The Grand Commit

Testing, testing... Are we on air? Ehm, well, hello everyone. I'll directly dive into this.

As snlzkn mentioned in the previous post, we have made a huge commit which mostly introduced the many new features that we have mentioned on February. We were and are working hard on the improvements. We have some issues with the dear(!) browser, IE with a few modules. Also there are a few new features waiting for the release 1.0. You can check the existing tickets and add new ones if you want at http://code.google.com/p/av-jslib/issues/list.

I am working hard on the documentation of the codes so that you'll understand our code deeply and use and modify it much easier. But this is not an easy job. It consumes lots of time and patience so I'll kindly request a bit more patience of yours.

Also as you may have noticed we have moved to our new design in our blog, thanks to medi. snlzkn is also working on new features' demos, wiki updates and some new features so stay tuned in case they'll post something new about their parts.

DBGrid Demo Update

Finally after our biggest commit, we updated the demos especially the DBGrid. In this demo you can check the features such as filtering, sorting, grouping and requesting additional data when selected from the Column Manager.

An advanced demo is coming up soon and it will include all the unbelievable abilities of the new DBGrid. If you want to learn what is coming and drool, please check the commit log of r98. If you are too lazy to do that, just check this blog in a week again.

Of course the wiki corresponding to this demo will also be updated soon. We are keeping notes and issues so do not worry :) Since implementing this table is very very easy you can expect it to be ready very soon.

Hello there!

So I have mentioned that we were working on the big new release. I now, want to give more information about it.

A JSON supporting DBGrid is on the way with really cool features like:

Controlling the state fully from the server side
Ability to give customized comparison function for any column from server side
Ability to give customized filter function for any column from server side
Ability to define custom, fully capable event handlers from server side

We have even more features that I cannot mention all here.

Also a fully revised QuickEdit library is on its way. Not all the new features may make to this big release but there is really serious improvements are being done for QuickEdit such as custom editors which will allow you to define your own editor as you are developing a simple plug-in.

Another module which is improved is AutoComplete. You know that it is already request efficient with the server it is interacting, now it is also field efficient with the user allowing them to enter multiple values in a single edit with a pre-defined separator character. Some custom event handler may also be indtroduced in the new version.

While all this stuff is being done, medi is working on the design of our new blog so that we can have a more personal look in this sacred place.

Since we do not have enough time to update and complete our own site we decided to announce things from a blog: here. We did not send many changes to the SVN repository recently but we are developing and upgrading all of our modules. So wait for the big improvement. =)
